About the Bonus Bet Conversion Calculator

This calculator estimates how much cash a bonus bet could return after you bet real money on the opposite result. A standard bonus pays winnings only; it does not return the bonus stake.

How to use this calculator

  1. Check whether the bonus stake is returned as cash when the bet wins.
  2. Enter the bonus amount and its odds.
  3. Enter the odds for the cash bet on the opposite result.
  4. Check the cash needed for that bet, the profit in each case, and the conversion rate.

Formula and definitions

  1. Bonus payout without the stake = B × (d − 1). If the stake is returned as cash, use B × d.
  2. Cash hedge H = bonus payout ÷ h.
  3. Cash profit if the bonus wins = bonus payout − H.
  4. Cash profit if the hedge wins = H × (h − 1).
  5. Conversion rate = the lower cash profit ÷ B. Multiply by 100 for a percentage.
B
The value of the bonus bet.
d and h
The decimal odds for the bonus bet and the cash hedge.
Cash hedge H
The real money you bet on the opposite result.
Conversion rate
The cash profit as a share of the bonus value.

Worked example

  1. Use a $100 bonus at +300 with the bonus stake not returned.
  2. The bonus pays $300 if it wins. A cash hedge at -300 needs a $225 stake.
  3. If the bonus wins, cash profit is $300 − $225 = $75.
  4. If the hedge wins, it earns $75 profit. The conversion rate is $75 ÷ $100 = 75%.

How to read your result

Required cash is the hedge stake you must pay yourself. The bonus value is not counted as money you spent.

The conversion rate uses the lower of the two cash profits after rounding.

Assumptions and limitations

  • Check withdrawal, stake-return, expiry, eligibility, and minimum-odds rules. Credit that must be wagered again is not the same as cash.
  • The two bets must cover every possible result and use matching push and void rules.
  • Stake-returned mode assumes the full bonus stake becomes cash you can withdraw on a win. Deposit matches and insured bets need a different calculation.

Common mistake to avoid

If the bonus stake is not returned, do not add it to the winning payout.

Bonus Bet FAQs

What is a good bonus conversion rate?

The rate depends on both sets of odds and the bonus rules. This tool shows the rate for your inputs. A higher rate may also need a larger cash hedge.

Does the hedge require real money?

Yes. You must fund the bet on the opposite result with real money. Check that amount even if the bonus itself costs you nothing.

How results are calculated

Results use the formulas and assumptions above. Money is rounded to cents. Odds and percentages are rounded to make them easier to read.

The calculator uses the odds and win chances you enter. It does not load live odds.
