About the Odds Converter

An odds converter shows the same betting price in American, decimal, and fractional formats. It also shows the win chance needed to break even and the payout for your stake.

How to use this calculator

  1. Choose the format of the odds you have.
  2. Enter odds such as +150, 2.50, or 3/2.
  3. Enter a stake to see the profit and total payout.
  4. Read the matching odds in all three formats and the break-even win chance.

Formula and definitions

  1. Positive American odds: d = 1 + A ÷ 100.
  2. Negative American odds: d = 1 + 100 ÷ |A|.
  3. Fractional odds n/m: d = 1 + n ÷ m.
  4. Break-even win chance = 1 ÷ d.
  5. Profit = stake × (d − 1). Total payout = stake × d.
A and |A|
American odds. |A| means ignore the minus sign, so |−110| is 110.
d
Decimal odds, which include the stake in the total return.
n/m
Fractional odds. The top number is profit for the stake shown by the bottom number.
Total payout
Your profit plus the stake returned on a win.

Worked example

  1. +150, 2.50 decimal, and 3/2 fractional are the same odds.
  2. A winning $100 bet earns $150 profit.
  3. Total payout is $150 + $100 = $250.
  4. The break-even win chance is 1 ÷ 2.50 = 40%.

How to read your result

Changing the format changes how odds are written. It does not change what the bet pays.

Total payout includes your original stake. Profit leaves it out.

Assumptions and limitations

  • American odds are rounded to whole numbers. Fractional results use a bottom number no larger than 1,000.
  • The win chance implied by the odds includes any sportsbook margin. It is not a forecast.
  • Fees, taxes, pushes, and bonus rules are not included.

Common mistake to avoid

Decimal odds of 2.50 return $2.50 for each $1 staked. The profit is $1.50, not $2.50.

Odds Converter FAQs

How do I convert -110 to decimal odds?

Calculate 1 + 100 ÷ 110 = 1.90909…, or about 1.91. The fractional odds are 10/11.

Can I enter fractional odds with a slash?

Yes. Choose Fractional and enter a positive ratio such as 5/2 or 10/11. Zero and negative fractional odds are not valid.

How results are calculated

Results use the formulas and assumptions above. Money is rounded to cents. Odds and percentages are rounded to make them easier to read.

The calculator uses the odds and win chances you enter. It does not load live odds.
